Design Is Language

Define design. Tough assignment. I think it has many definitions. I found a few possibilities by way of Medium/Google. Here’ s one…

One possibility is that design is language.

You can study design, but perhaps it is encoded in us from childhood.

Whether design should be ‘content first’ or whether copy and design should evolve together is a topic of debate, but what’s certain is that the intention and power of language [is] inextricably tied to context, visual or spoken.”

Their video looks at the sometimes subtle cues that certain language choices in products produce results or affect the user.
